Ben Shepherd, Spencer Moody, Vanessa Fiola and Ryan Crase, July 1, 2010

Join us Thursday July 1, from 5-9 for an evening of performance, readings and visual art by Ben Shepherd (Soundgarden), Spencer Moody (Murder City Devils), Vanessa Fiola and Ryan Crase.Thanks to Shawn McClung and Doug Parry for the photos.




Ben Shepherd,
founder of HATER and best known as the bassist and co-writer for the mega rock band, Soundgarden, will include perform his recent solo work as well as exhibit his personal musings conveyed through a visual installation.  

Ryan Crase, a Seattle- based visual artist, designer, musician, and creative node, will be collaborating with Ben Shepherd and Vanessa Fiola on prose-based, projected installations. Most recently, he is involved in new and experimental works in music, modern dance, theater and multimedia performance with On the Boards.

Vanessa Fiola is a Los Angeles- based performance artist and writer. She co-founded a national street art project and co-authors an online advice column. Her work has been featured in NY, LA, SF, Seattle and Austin. She will install a wall-sized textual piece and read from her work the night of the opening.

Spencer Moody,
is in the bands, Murder City Devils, Triumph of Lethargy, and Mongrel Blood. He is also the proprietor of Seattle's The Anne Bonny, a published poet and visual artist, who will exhibit a series of paintings and a sculpture. Spencer will be reading poetry on opening night.

Scarlett Lam lives and works in New York City. She is an artist-in-the round, involved with visual art art, theater, and music. Her writing credits include WILD RICE, which premiered off-broadway at the ONE festival and the short film, Metronome, which is currently making the rounds in the indie film circuit. As an actor, Scarlett has appeared in Grey’s Anatomy, How I met your Mother, and Law & Order, among others.
